Other Problems
Moss - a sign of a poor and, generally, compacted soil. Moss is shallow rooting and easy to remove with a moss killer and scarification. However, it will return unless the underlying soil problem is dealt with. Read the Regular Maintenance section.
Worm casts - will smother the grass and create patches ideal for weeds to establish. If you don't like the idea of treating your lawn to remove the worms, then regular brushing is necessary to remove the casts. Any chemical worm control is best applied in the Autumn in a warm, showery period just after the lawn has been cut.
